Stay Informed On Public Charge

The public charge rule change was published in the Federal Register by the Department of Homeland Security on October 10, 2018. This rule threatens the health and the well-being of our immigrant communities. Individuals and their families will be placed in an inconceivable position to choose between accessing necessary health services and preserving their immigration status.

The public is invited to publish unique comments directly to the Federal Register about what the impact that this rule change can have. This public comment period starts on October 10, 2018 and ends on December 10, 2018.  Please look below for resources on how to write and submit a public comment. However, it is important to note that the rule change does not take effect until the Administration reviews and responds to those comments.

At Healthy Communities Foundation, we are committed to serve the immigrant communities that reside within our service region and support organizations and providers that work and advocate for them.

As we continue to learn more about the new public charge rule, we will provide up-to-date information and resources to keep you informed of how it impacts the immigrant communities you may serve.
