Our President Maria Pesqueira participated in Forefront-Philanthropy Club’s November 17th panel “Addressing Racial Equity and Health Equity: How Can Foundations and Nonprofits Work Together Better?”. Jacki Davidoff, Advisory Board Member of The Philanthropy Club and Principal and Chief Potential Officer at Davidoff Strategy moderated the conversation.

On the panel, Maria was joined by Divya Mohan Little, Program Officer at Polk Bros. Foundation, and Ayesha Jaco, Executive Director of West Side United. The panel discussed how COVID-19 has revealed opportunities for responsiveness and collaboration between philanthropy and nonprofits to address racial equity and health equity in the Chicagoland area.

The panel discussed:

    • What is working?
    • Where are there gaps?
    • What are the critical questions that should be addressed by both foundations and nonprofits who seek to challenge systems that keep inequities in place?
