On April 22, 2022, Healthy Communities Foundation joined community organizers, peers, and other supporters at our grantee partner Youth Crossroads’ annual gala, “Youth Crossroads in Bloom.” The evening celebrated the young people from Berwyn, Cicero, and other surrounding areas whom Youth Crossroads serves and recognized five community members who exemplify the “spirit and excellence” of Youth Crossroads.

Our President Maria Pesqueira accepted Youth Crossroads’ Support Award on the Foundation’s behalf, recognizing our support and commitment to their work and communities they serve.
“We are grateful for the collaborative role that Youth Crossroads has played in our region, co-founding the Cicero Community Collaborative and working closely with schools and other community-based organizations to serve community in a way that is comprehensive and grounded in health equity,” said Maria.
ABOUT YOUTH CROSSROADS
Youth Crossroads takes a community-based approach to addressing the mental health needs of youth and their caretakers in our region, including leading several counseling services, youth leadership and development programs, at no cost to youth and their families. They co-founded the Cicero Community Collaborative, a volunteer coalition made up of over 60 local organizations with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for Cicero youth and families by improving educational outcomes, parent engagement, health, and safety.
We are proud to support Youth Crossroads and share their vision of creating healthy and thriving communities in our service region.
