Claudia Perez is the Grants and Operations Manager at the Healthy Communities Foundation. She oversees the grant management process for our grantee partners and manages office operations and human resources for the Foundation. Claudia believes that her work supporting the amazing HCF team gives her great pride and fulfills her personal goal of living a life of purpose.
Claudia started her career as Executive Assistant for CYDSA, a large corporation in Monterrey, Mexico mainly dedicated to the fabrication of cellulose and cardboard packaging, salt, and the construction of water treatment plants. After arriving in Chicago, she became the Executive Assistant to the Associate Director and the Development Department at the National Museum of Mexican Art. Claudia then joined Mujeres Latinas en Acción as Assistant to the Director. During her 16 years working at Mujeres Latinas en Acción, Claudia performed tasks related to human services, board relations, business administration, office operations, event planning, and customer service.
Claudia grew up in Monterrey, an industrial city in northern Mexico, and moved to Chicago in 1994 after getting married, looking to start a new life in the city.
She is the mother of three adult children who fill her life with joy and enjoys dancing, biking, swimming, and walks in nature. Claudia is passionate about living a life centered on spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. She practices Reiki and yoga and is presently pursuing a certification as a neuro-yoga instructor.
